1. وترى شقائقَها خلالَ رِياضِها

    أوفتْ مطارِفُهَا على أزهارِها

    Her anemones peek through her gardens

    Her eyelids have veiled over her flowers

  2. وكأنَّها والريحُ يصقلُ خَدَّها

    والسُّحْبُ تملؤُها بصَوبِ قَطارِهَا

    As if the wind were polishing her cheek

    And the clouds filling her with the rain of her trains

  3. أقداحُ ياقوتٍ لطافٌ أُتْرِعَتْ

    راحاً فباتَ المِسْكُ سُؤرَ قرارِهَا

    Goblets of ruby gently asleep

    Their fragrance remains in her abode

  4. وكأنَّها وَجَناتُ غيدٍ أحدَقَتْ

    بخدُودِها حُمْراً خطوطُ عِذارِها

    As if she were gardens of lilies staring

    With cheeks red, the lines of her chastity
