1. فَدَيْتُكَ يا أَتمَّ الناسِ حُسْناً

    وأصلَحَهم لمتَّخِذٍ حبيبا

    I ransom you, O most perfect of people in beauty

    And most fit to take as a beloved

  2. فوجهُكَ نزهةُ الأبصارِ حُسْناً

    وصوتُكَ مُتْعَةُ الأسماعِ طيبا

    So your face is the adornment of sights in beauty

    And your voice is the pleasure of hearings, sweet

  3. وسائلةٍ تسائِلُ عنكَ قُلْنا

    لها في وصفِكَ العَجَبَ العَجيبا

    And an inquirer inquiring about you, we told her

    In describing you, wondrous wonder

  4. دَنا ظبياً وغَنَّى عندَلِيبا

    ولاحَ شقائِقاً ومشى قَضِيبا

    A gazelle approached and a nightingale sang

    Carnations shone and partridge strutted
