أبلى جديديَّ هذان الجديدانِ
والشأنُ في أن هذا الشيبَ ينعاني
These two new ones have worn my own two new ones threadbare;

كأنَّما اعتمَّ رأسي منه بالجبلِ ال
راسي فأوهمني ثقلاً وأوهاني
As though, because of it, my head had taken the mountain for its turban—
the firmly rooted one—which made me imagine a weight and left me weak.
