رمضانُ أرمَضَني فأمرَضَني بصا

داتٍ على عددِ الطباعِ الأربعَهْ

Ramadan tormented me, so it made me sick with headaches numbering the four dispositions

Fasting and jaundice make me swallow misery

صومٌ وصفراءٌ تجرِّعُني الردى

وصبابةٌ وصدودُ من قلبي مَعَهْ

And youth and estrangement from my heart are with it
