كتبتُ وشيناتُ حالي غَلَبْن

عليَّ بمَنْ جَلَّ عن مُشْبِهِ

I wrote verses about my state that prevailed

Over me, with one who is far above any counterpart

فشوقي إليهِ وشُكْري له

وشعريَ فيهِ وشُغْلي بهِ

So my longing for him, my gratitude to him
