طالعُ يومي غيرُ منحوسٍ

فاسقني يا طاردَ البوسِ

My day dawns auspicious and bright

So pour me, dispeller of gloom, a cup

كأساً كعينِ الديكِ في روضةٍ

كأنَّها حلةُ طاووسِ

Like the rooster's eye midst the greens

As if a peacock's dress plumed and preened
