1. الجُودُ يحْكم في ارْتياحكْ

    والغَيْثُ يُعجَبُ من سَمَاحِكْ

    Generosity rules your comfort

    And rain admires your tolerance

  2. والرّزْقُ مبْسُوطاً لنا

    يا ذُهل من باب امْتنْاحكْ

    Sustenance is spread out for us

    O you who are amazed by your generosity's door

  3. وتَجُود عَفْواً بالنُّضا

    رِوباللّجينِ وأنتَ ضاحِكْ

    You give pardon abundantly with happiness

    While you are laughing gently

  4. ودَمُ الأعادي يُمْترَىَ

    بشَبَا سيوفكَ أو رماحِكْ

    The blood of enemies is bought

    With the tips of your swords or your spears

  5. والمَجدُ يغْدوا أو يَرو

    حُ على غُدُوِّكَ أو رواحكْ

    Glory comes and goes

    Accompanying your rise or your rest

  6. لعُلوِّ فضْلكَ وانتِطا

    قك بالفضائلِ واتّشاحِكْ

    Due to your superior virtues and refinement

    With good manners and your embrace

  7. ومنَ السَعادةِ عنْدَنا

    أنَّا بُعثنا لاْمتداحِكْ

    Of happiness for us

    That we were sent to praise you

  8. فاسْلَم أبا حسَنٍ عزّي

    زاً في مسائِكَ أو صباحكْ

    So greet Abu Hassan honorably

    In your evenings or mornings

  9. وبكَتِ الحَمائُم واشتَكَت انْزاحَها

    فالتاعَ قَلْبي إذْ سَمْعتُ مناحَها

    The doves cried and complained of their departure

    So my heart was affected when I heard their cooing

  10. سَفّحْتُ من ماءِ المآقي عْبرَةً

    بعْدَ الأحّبةِ لم أزَل سَفَّاحَها

    I shed tears from the water springs

    After loved ones, I did not stop weeping

  11. بُرَحآءُ شَوْقٍ قد أَلحّ بِمهجَتي

    ولو كان عجَّل موتَها لأراحا

    Yearning's sadness insisted in my mind

    If only it hastened their death, it would have relieved

  12. والنّاسُ في أَسرِ الهُموم رهينةٌ

    لم تَلْقَ من أَسْرِ الهُموم سِراحَها

    People are hostage to worries

    They did not find release from worries' captivity

  13. ولقَد زَجْرتُ من البَوارِح مرَّةً

    قبلَ التّفرُّق مَرَّها وصياحها

    I have chided the limbs once

    Before parting, their bitterness and screaming

  14. وإِذا ذّكَرت الأصْفياءِ كأنَّ في

    قلْبي ما تضُمُّ جناحَها

    And when I remember the loyal ones as if in

    My heart what their wings enclose

  15. لله أيَّامُ الشّبابِ فإِنَّها

    القَتْ عليَّ من الصّبا أفرَاحَها

    To God, the days of youth are

    They cast on me the joys of youth

  16. ولَبسْتُ بهْجَتها وذُقتُ نعيمُها

    وشرْبتُ قهوتَها وزرْتُ مِلاحها

    And I wore its splendor and tasted its bliss

    And drank its coffee and visited its salt

  17. ورُتعْت بيْنَ الغانيات مقَبِّلاً

    وردَ الخدودُ مُعَضْعِضاً تُفَّاحَها

    I flirted among the singers, kissing

    The cheeks blushing and biting its apples

  18. وإِذا السّهام من العيون جرحَنَني

    داويتُ من ريقَ الثُّغور جراحَها

    And if the arrows from the eyes wounded me

    I was healed by the saliva of their wounds

  19. وعزيزَةٍ ملء السّوار كأنَّها

    لبست على الغُصنِ الرّطبِ وشاحَها

    A precious one, her bracelet as if

    She wore over the moist branch its scarf

  20. سامرتُها ليلَ التّمام تَبُثُّ لي

    مَثْوى الهوى وعتابَها ومُزَاحَها

    I conversed with her the night of perfection, she confides in me

    The abode of passion, her coyness and joking

  21. ولزَمْتُها تَحْتَ الشّعار مُعانقاً

    رَيّا الرَّوادِف والعِظام رَداحَها

    And I accompanied her under the canopy, embracing

    The well-rounded and the slender waisted

  22. وإِذا الرّياضُ من الغَمامِ ترَشَّفت

    أنْدآءَها واسْتَنْشَقَت أَرْواحَها

    And if the gardens dripped from the clouds

    Their calls and inhaled their spirits

  23. يَمّمْتُها فحَلَتْها بصَحابتي

    سَحَراً يُبادر بالصّبوحِ صَباحَها

    I took her there early, with my friends

    At dawn, dawn follows its morning

  24. بدنان خمرٍ قد أصابَ تجارُها

    من حبّنا لشرابها ارْباحَها

    Wine skins that brought its merchants

    Profit from our love of its drink

  25. ولقد بكر نا نستبي أَبكارها

    عَلَلاً ورُحنا نستقي أَرْواحَها

    We got up early to pick its first fruits

    Sick and got up to absorb its spirits

  26. من كفِّ ناعمَة البنان كأَنَّما

    مَزَجت لنا بموَدّةٍ أَقداحَها

    From the soft palms as if

    She mixed for us the cups affectionately

  27. ظلّنا هناك نُبَين سرّ سرُورَنا

    أَنَّا نُراحُ إذا شَربّنا رَاحَها

    We stayed there explaining the secret of our joy

    That we relax when we drink its comfort

  28. وعصابةٍ شَكتِ الزَّمانَ فأقبلت

    تُزْجي على أَنضائها أَشباحَها

    And a gang complained of fate, so it came

    To wake its ghosts on its beds

  29. سرَت الدّجى ليلاً فانصَبها السُّرى

    واصابها لفحُ الهَجير فلاحَها

    The darkness crept at night, so it foresaw them

    And the blowing wind touched its flames

  30. من انَّهَا سَمعت بذكر مُحمّدٍ

    جَعلت إِليه غدوَّها وَرَوحَها

    Because they heard the mention of Mohammed

    They made their rising and soul towards him

  31. حتَّى أَناخَت في مرابع سَيّدٍ

    من آل نبهان المُلوكِ اباحَها

    Until they stayed at the shepherd's home

    Of the Nabhani kings who allowed them

  32. القَت هناكَ عِصيَّها بحَوائجٍ

    لأبي أبي عبد الإلهِ نجّاحَها

    There they cast their sticks humbly

    To Abu Abdullah, may he succeed

  33. ورعَت ذَرَاهُ تحت صَيّب راحةٍ

    عرَف الوفوُد نوالها وسَماحَها

    And shepherded his young under rest's roof

    The delegations knew his gifts and tolerance

  34. بَسَطت على أَهل البسيطة برِّها

    وكفتْ بإِدراك الغنِى مْمتاحَها

    She spread her righteousness upon the people of the simple abode

    And sufficed by attaining wealth her aspirations

  35. كم حاجةٍ صعبت على طُلاّبها

    والله قدَّرها بها فأتاحَها

    How many difficult needs for its seekers

    And Allah made them possible through her

  36. وكمِ اسْتُجير به لشَكْوى قِلَّة

    فاقَلَّها أَو علَّةٍ فأزاحَها

    And how many sought refuge in him for the complaint of poverty

    So he reduced it or an illness, so he removed it

  37. وضَحَت خلالَ رباعهِ سُبُل الغِنى

    مسلوكةً والىَ النّدى إيضاحَها

    The ways of wealth became clear in its expanse

    Made passable, and he made clear its water springs

  38. من عُصَبةٍ عتَكيةِ أَزديةٍ

    قَدَر المُهْيمنُ فَضْلهَا وصَلاحَها

    From a courageous Azdi group

    The Ruler decreed its superiority and rectitude

  39. وهَي التَّي في كل يوم كريهَةٍ

    عَرَف الكُماةُ نزالهَا وكفاحَها

    It is the one that in each difficult day

    The brave knew its fighting and struggle

  40. أُسدٌ أعدَّت للقاء دُروعها

    وجِيادَها وسُيوفها ورمَاحها

    A lion that prepared for the meeting its armors

    And its steeds, its swords and its spears

  41. وإذا السّنون تَتَايعَت لَزَباتها

    نَحَرَت لإطعام الضّيوف لقَاحها

    And if years succeed in attacking it

    It slaughtered its cattle to feed the guests

  42. فهُمُ الكرامُ لهُم بِكلّ مكَانةٍ

    حمدٌ إذا ذَمّ الوُفودُ شحاحَها

    So they are the generous, for them in every status

    Praise, when the delegations blame its stinginess

  43. وتَرى أَبا عبد الإله هُمامهَا

    مقدامَها قَمْقَامَها جَحجاحَها

    And you see Abu Abdullah their protector

    Its leader, its pillar, its impregnable fortress

  44. نَطَقَت بفضْلِ الأزْد أَلسنَةُ الورى

    وقضى الإله بشكرها إفصاحَها

    The tongues of existence spoke of the Azdi's superiority

    And God decreed its gratitude and eloquence

  45. وانقادَتِ الأَقْدامُ والأيدي لَهَمْ

    واسْتَيْقَنوا في الطَّاعةِ اسْتصلاََحها

    And the feet and hands yielded to them

    And they were certain in obedience to better it

  46. إنّ المُلوكَ تعدّ وجهكَ يا أَبا

    عبد الإله إلى الهدى مِصْباحَها

    You are the one who opened the doors of sublimity

    To the questioners, and you still are its opener

  47. ولأنت سابُقها غداةَ رِهانها

    ولك المُعلّى اذ تُجيلُ قداحَها

    You hurried to provide your petitioners needy

    With joy, not complaining of their insistence

  48. وإِذا هُمُ ورَدوا المياهَ فصادفوا

    كدراً وَردَتَ صفاءَها وقَراحَها

    And you diverted its hardships without years

    And dispelled the injustice of fate against it

  49. ولقَد ورَثت من العُلى جُمْهورها

    وصَميمها ولُبابَها وصُراحَها

    And you left a spreading remembrance, O Muhammad

    Its praises' fragrance blew in existence

  50. أَنت الذي فَتَّحت أبوابَ العُلى

    للسائلينَ ولم تزَل فَتَّاحَها

    And you remained pride for the loyal and mercy

    And upon the enemy descended destruction, so it swept them

  51. وافدتَ نائلك العُفاةَ مُعجَّلاً

    ببشاشةٍ لا تشتَكي اْلحاحَها

    The holidays continued at your place

    Its joys, delight and prosperity

  52. وصَرفت من غِير السنين قُحولها

    وَرَدتَ من نوب الزَمان جِماَحها

    And live safely in your happy world

    Forever protected from its disgrace and sins

  53. وتَركت ذكراً يا محّمُد شائعاً

    عَبقَ المحامِد في الوَرَى نَفَّاحَها

    And Ibn Ma'ali, O Muhammad, generously

    And the noble deeds beautifully adorn its dawn

  54. وبقيت عزّاً للْوليّ ورحمةً

    وعلى العدى نَزلَ الرَّدّى فاجتاَحها

    And precede its poet with your poetry's jewelry

    And refine it with your eulogy, its praiser

  55. وتوالتِ الأعيادُ عندكَ بالغاً

    بَهَجاِتها وسرُورَها وفلاحَها

    So from the sublime, he has endowed you with its subtlety

    And from the rhymes, he has inspired you with its purity

  56. وانعمْ بدُنياك السَعيدة آمناً

    ابداً مُوقىً عارَها وجُناحَها

  57. وابِن المعالي يا محمّدُ بالنّدى

    والمكرمُاتِ مُبهْياً أوْ ضَاحَها

  58. واستبق شاعرَها بنظم حُليِّها

    وصّافَها بقَريضِه مدّاحَها

  59. فمن المعالي قَد حباكَ دقاقَها

    ومن القَوافي قد حَلاك صحاحَها
