For one who wishes to repay from his wealth with gratitude

Your praise made eloquent the poetry

Abu Hassan, I did well to mention your wealth

And I did not find, apart from wealth, a veil to protect it

So it became, when you gave generously, the veil for your honor

You diminished the footsteps of former times, going

To the highest rank with the greatest resolve

Attained from glory, you rose high in rank

So you lived gloriously, atop the heights of nobility

And a gathering place, among the chieftains foremost

May God, O Dhuhl, make your world prosperous

Lands flourishing, lengthening your life for you

And you attained in your children the request and desire

So gladden your eye with them, and strengthen your arm with them
