إن المُلوك إذا دعت لسباقها

وتفاخرت في شامها وعراقها

When kings called for a race

Boasting in Syria and Iraq

فالفضل معروفاً لإبراهيمها

والسبق حائزهُ أَبو إسحَاقها

Credit is known to Abraham's people

And precedence is held by Abu Ishaq's people

مبدي جميل الشكر من أفواهها

بقَلائد الحَسَنات في أَعناقها

Giving thanks with graceful words from their mouths

With necklaces of good deeds around their necks

ومجيرُها بالأمن من رَوْعاتِها

ومُعينها بالبذل من إمْلاقها

And helping them with safety from its terrors

And aiding them with generosity from its palms

حاز المعالي عن أَصَح وراثةٍ

والمكرمات بغايةاستحْقَاقها

He has attained glory through the best inheritance

And favors through the utmost entitlement

وَسَمت به نفس لكل نفيسةٍ

في الحمد بالمحمود من أخلاقها

And a soul aspiring to each noble one

In praise for the praiseworthy morals

ويدٌ مؤيدةٌ على نيل العُلى

بالنّائل المعروف من انفاقها

And a helping hand for attaining the heights

Well-known for its expenditures

وعزيمة مثل السّنان وهمّةٍ

شرفت بإدراك العُلى ولحاقها

And determination like a spear and aspiration

That has honored reaching the heights and catching up to them

مُلئت له الأرض الفضاءُ فضائلاً

فاحت بريّا الحمد في آفاقها

The earth was filled with merits for him

Spreading pure praise in its horizons

فليبقَ في ظلّ السّلامة جانياً

ثمراتِ صافي العيش في أَوراقها

So may he remain protected, unharmed

Fruits of pure living on its pages
