1. The ornaments of kings and their crowns,

    and the house of lofty honors and their hall,

  2. and the valor of champions and their daring,

    and the forbearance of capable men and their beneficence—

  3. the Azd inherited them in succession, until they passed

    to their Nabhan, who possessed the inheritance:

  4. the prince of al-Atik, through whom rose high

    the mature men of al-Atik and its young men.

  5. O Nabhan, you are indeed of a clan

    whose Qahtan raised it to glory.

  6. They are the eye of all Ya'rub,

    and you are the pupil of that eye.

  7. When the noble deeds of lofty glory are sought,

    their sign appears upon your brow.

  8. And as for you, whenever a need proves difficult,

    its fulfillment comes from your right hand.

  9. So may you live and, lord that you are, be granted

    your wishes, and may their attainment delight you.

  10. And may you always be visited each morning, in well-being,

    by life's youth and its prime.
