1. The home of the Sharif Ibn Abi Ghalib

    is built to fulfill the seeker’s desire.

  2. Within it dwells a noble Sharif whose generous nature

    is sweeter to the drinker than white honey.

  3. In the gathering, the radiance of his face gleams forth,

    like the full moon, or like molten gold.

  4. How noble he is—a magnanimous man journeying

    toward God, not toward what passes and vanishes!

  5. He springs from a lineage whose stock is approved

    and has never mingled with a blemishing admixture.

  6. May his Master preserve him as a refuge for us

    from every calamity, overwhelming and exhausting,

  7. through the honored station of Taha the Chosen, his forefather—

    refuge of the blind and afflicted, the frail, and the fearful.

  8. May God bless him for as long as

    the return of rhymes calls for the Bestower’s Presence.
