1. حُقَّ لِهَذَا الشَّايِ أَن يُوصَفَا

    فِي مَجلسٍ صَافٍ ويَومٍ صَفَا

    This tea deserves to be described

    In a pure gathering and a clear day

  2. في مَجلِسٍ مَا شَابَهُ شَائِبٌ

    خَالٍ مِن أربَابِ الخَنَا والجَفَا

    In a gathering not disturbed by folly

    Free from the owners of malice and estrangement

  3. مَا ضَمَّ إِلاَّ سَيِّداً مَاجِداً

    أو مِزهَراً أو شَادِناً أهيَفَا

    It included only a noble master

    Or a blossoming or gentle branch

  4. ضَمَّ الأَديبَ الناجِيَ المُرتَضى

    وَالمُرتَضى ابنَ المُرتَضى يُوسُفَا

    It included the accomplished poet Al-Naji

    And Al-Murtada the son of Al-Murtada Yusuf

  5. وفِيهِ أخنَاثُ الفَتَاةُ التى

    فِيهَا لِعَلاتِ العَلِيلِ شِفَا

    And in it the softness of the girl

    In whom is healing for the ailments of the sick

  6. شَمسَيَّةُ الوَجهِ إِذَا قَابَلَت

    شَمس الضُّحَى أيقَنتَ أن تُكشَفَا

    Shamsiyya of face when she meets

    The morning sun you'd know she'd be unveiled

  7. والشَّاىُ شَاىٌ مُنتَقىً مُصطفي

    مِن خَيرِ شَاىٍ مُنتَقىً مُصطفي

    And the tea is select chosen tea

    Of the best select chosen tea

  8. تَبدُو عَلَى كَأسَاتِه هَالَةٌ

    تَخَالُ بَدرَ التَّمِّ فِيهَا اختفي

    On its cups appears an aura

    You'd think the full moon hid in it

  9. تَرشَافُها شَافٍ لِنَفسِ الفَتَى

    إنَّ شِفَاءَ النَّفسِ أن تَرشُفَا

    Its aroma heals the soul of the youth

    Surely the healing of the soul is to inhale its scent
