Blessed is the sheltering tree,
Whose shade comforts the weary traveler,
With branches soft and laden,
With red gold fruits weighing down.
Its trunk of fragrant aloes-wood,
Pure amber and coral stand,
With fruits of all that heart desires,
Saffron, pearls and ruby in its garden.
Sleeves of robes it bears unfold,
In colors of fashion untold,
Satin, damask and brocade,
And fruits ripe and arrayed.
Its roots from the nation of Mustafa,
Ahmad, humanity's crown and star,
So I asked who said I am not,
From mansion or hut afar,
For no true believer, but from it, has
A branch, or more, that gives solace.
