Surely a drink of sawiq in a time of hunger,
And a meal of tharid with fatty meat,
Are dearer to me than what was narrated by the sons of
Qays, and than what Ṣalt ibn Dīnār narrated,
From what so-and-so narrated from their so-and-so—
That one who used to call them to the Fire.
