واسألْ بني الحَسحاسِ تُخْبَرْ أنَّه

كاد الوصيَّ برَشْقِ سهمٍ مُقْصَدِ

And ask the tribe of Has-Has, you will be told that

The trustee had almost been struck by an aimed arrow

فدعا عليه المُصطفى في قومه

بدعاء محمودِ الدعاء مؤيَّدِ

So the Chosen One invoked upon him among his people

With an invocation - blessed and supported be this invocation!

فتعطّلت يُمنى يَديه عقوبةً

وأتى عشيرَتَهُ بوجهٍ أسودِ

Thus his right hand was disabled as punishment

And he came to his clan with a blackened face

غُرست نخيلٌ من سلالةِ آدم

شرفاً فطابَ بفخرِ طيبِ المولدِ

Date palms were planted of Adam's progeny

With nobility, thus it prospered with the pride of good birth

زيتونةٌ طَلَعَتْ فلا شرقيّةٌ

تُلقى ولا غربيّةٌ في المحتِدِ

An olive tree blossomed, neither eastern

Nor western to be found in the horizon

ما زال يُشرق نورُها من زَيتِها

فوق السهولِ وفوق صُمِّ الجَلْمَدِ

Its light continues to rise from its oil

Above the plains and above the barren mountains

وسراجُها الوهَاجُ أحمدُ والذي

يَهدي إلى نهجِ الطريقِ الأزهدِ

Its flaming torch is Ahmad and the one

Who guides to the path of the most ascetic road

وإذا وصلتَ بحبلِ آل محمدٍ

حبلَ المودّةٍ مِنك فابلغْ وازدَدِ

And if you reached the rope of Muhammad's family

The rope of affection from you, then deliver and increase

بمطهَّرٍ لِمطهّرين أبوّةً

نالوا العُلى ومكارماً لم تَنْفَدِ

With the Purified, father of the Purified

They attained the heights and virtues that do not diminish

أهلِ التقى وذوي النُهى وأولي العُلى

والناطقينَ عن الحديثِ المُسنَدِ

The people of piety, inhibition, and the most high

And those who speak of the verified hadith

الصائمينَ القائمينَ القانت

ينَ الفائقينَ بني الحِجى والسؤدَدِ

The fasting, the standing, the bowing

The surpassing, the protected by trials and calamities

الراكعينَ الساجدينَ الحامدي

نَ السابقينَ إلى صلاةِ المسجدِ

The kneeling, the prostrating, the praising

The outpacing, to the prayers of the mosque

الفاتقينَ الراتقينَ السائحي

نَ العابدينَ إلاهَهُمْ بِتَودُّدِ

The excelling, the rising, the wandering

The worshipping their God with affection

الواهبينَ المانعينَ القادري

نَ القاهرين لحاسدٍ مُتَحسِّدِ

The giving, the preventing, the capable

The conquering of any envious envier

نصبَ الجليلُ لجبرئيلَ مِنبراً

في ظلِّ طوبى من مُتونِ زبرجدِ

The Sublime erected a pulpit for Gabriel

In the shade of bliss from platforms of aquamarine

شهدَ الملائكةُ الكرامُ وربُّهم

وكفى بهم وبربِّهم من شُهَّدِ

The honorable angels and their Lord bore witness

And it was enough – their Lord and them as witnesses

وتناثرتْ طُوبى عليهم لؤلؤاً

وزمرّداً متتابعاً لم يُعقَدِ

And blessings showered upon them as pearls

And emeralds in succession, unstrung

ومِلاكُ فاطمةَ الذي ما مثله

في مُتهم شَرقاً ولا في منجدِ

And the angel of Fatima, the like of whom

Was not found in the East or in the assembly

وبكرنَ عَلْقمة النصارى إذ عَتَتْ

في عِزِّها والباذخِ المُتَعقِّدِ

And the patriarch of the Christians when she disputed

In her glory and the lofty, intertwined

إذ قالَ كرِّرْ هاتمُ أبناءَكم

ونساءَكم حتى نُباهلَ في غَدِ

When Hātim said, "Bring forth your sons

And women, so we may imprecate tomorrow"

فأتى النبيُّ بفاطمٍ وولِّيها

وحسينِ والحسنِ الكريمِ المُصْعِدِ

So the Prophet came with Fatima and her guardian

And Hussein and Hassan the generous, the climber

جبريلُ سادسُهم فاكرُم سادِسٍ

وَأخيرُ منتَجَبٍ لأفضلِ مَشهدِ

Gabriel was their sixth, so honor the sixth

And the last of the chosen for the greatest scene
