Take it, O sons of Hashim!
Record it, O sons of Hashim
And restore its effaced signs.
And renew from its verses the faded one
Take it—may he never rise in stature who
Record it, no eminent man's fortune
Has come to begrudge you its sovereignty.
Has become your rival kingdom
Take it, and wear its crown;
Record it and wear its crown
May you never lack among you one to wear it.
Do not lack among you one who wears it
God’s caliphate and His dominion,
It is God's caliphate and authority
And an ancestral root of yours that had faded away.
And a lineage that was examining you
Rulers have governed it before you;
It was ruled before you by rulers
It chose no knight save one from among you.
Who chose none but a knight from you
Were the pulpit given a choice of its knights,
If the pulpit were allowed to choose its horsemen
It would choose no knight save one from among you.
It would choose none but a knight from you
And were sovereignty consulted about a ruler,
And if the kingdom were consulted about a ruler
It would accept no ruler other than you.
It would be pleased with none but one from you
Abd Allah did not leave in Syria, of
Abdullah's servant did not leave in Syria
The house of Abu al-As, a single sneezing man.
From the family of Abu Al-‘Ass anyone sneezing
So I am not, as to your ruling it until
I do not despair that you will possess it
Jesus’s descent, without hope in you.
Until Jesus descends among you disappointed
