سبحت حين أبصرت من دموعي

لج بحر قد أعجز السباحا

ليت هذا الفتى قضى فاستراحا

Then she whispered in secret to the ground

مشتاق قلباً أثخنتموه جراحا

To a heart you have wounded with deep sorrows

كتم الوجد جهده فاذا الدم

ع بأسرار وجده قد باحا

He suppressed his passion to no avail

For his blood disclosed the secrets of his inner pain

باعكم قلبه الكئيب سفاهاً

فأخذتم رقاده استرباحا

You took unfair advantage of his weary heart

And stole the comfort of his rest
