وأجردَ يسعى ليلَه ونهارَه

وفي وَسْطِهِ عَظْمٌ يُقَوِّمُ سَيْرَه

He runs ceaselessly night and day

With a backbone to guide his way

وما جارَ فيما سارَ قَدرَ قُلامَةٍ

ولكنَّهُ يَشقَى ويَستُرُ غيرَه

He harms no one along his path

Yet suffers himself to hide their wrath
