You sent me at the birth a novelty
That puzzles the eye of its seer
A gift I did not know whether to be more amazed by it
Or by the taste of its giver
Domes of wax mingling with the duskiness
In our gathering near its hills
As if they are branches of amber that appeared
A flower of fire in its heights
Its spirits consume its bodies
Intentionally and perish when they make it perish
Its executioner strikes its necks
And by that act gives it life
