لَبِسَت مُصَندَلةَ الثِّيابِ فَمن رأى
قمراً تَسربَلَ بعدَها أثوابا
She wore sandalwood-scented garments—so who has seen
She wore the gown, so if one saw
a moon clothe itself in robes after her?
A moon wrapped in robes thereafter
وحَكَت من الرَّشإ الرَّبيبِ ثلاثةً
عيْناً وجِيداً مُفتِناً وإهابا
And she mirrored three features of the hand-reared gazelle fawn:
And she braided three slender wisps
an eye, a bewitching neck, and skin.
