I ceased to pine for Muhammad when it dragged on—
I asked Muhammad when estrangement dragged on
the estrangement with him—and reproach ceased.
And reproach was cut off between us

Spring may be forgotten when its nights have gone
its nights—and youth, too, may cease to be missed.
And youth may be consoled of sorrow and loss
