O you who have seen the full moon—the full moon of the sky—
O you who saw the full moon in the sky's full moon,
Going evening and morning to his market!
Going and returning to its marketplace,
Whenever his shears tear the cloth,
When its shredder shreds the garment,
My heart is torn as the cloth is torn.
My heart is torn to shreds like its shredding.
And sweeter than the breath of the gardens' breeze
And sweeter than the spirit of the scent of paradise
Are lines that drank their fill of his saliva.
Are lines he relates from his saliva.
