How lovely the water lily I am enamored of!
O beauty of a soft Nile, I am smitten with it,
The water grants it the purest of its drink.
The water gives it the purity of its drink,
As though it were a lover stricken with thirst,
As if it were a lover thirsty for it,
Who imagined the water to be his beloved’s saliva.
Imagining the water as the saliva of its beloved.
