Indeed, by good fortune I fell in love with Mus‘id.
I fell in love with one happy and content
I joined with him, and he became both yearning and alluring.
I kept company with him, he became passionate and eager
So when he draws near, he makes it his business to visit;
When he came near, visiting became his habit
And when he is far away, he sends his phantom to visit by night.
When he was away, imagination came knocking
I reproached him one day, while on his cheeks
I reproached him one day and in his cheeks
Were roses; from bashfulness they turned to anemones.
Were roses that turned from shyness into anemones
