لقد أتى العبد أمراً واضحاً حسناً

أهدى هناباً لأن البعض منه هنا

The servant has come with a fine, clear command

He has gifted a sword here, for some of it is from here

قد أحكمته يدا صناعه فغدا

يستوقف الطرف حسناً أن يرى وسنا

Its maker’s hand has perfected it, so it has become

Pleasant for the eye to see its beauty and brightness

تشف أحشاؤه عما تضمنه

فيكسب العين منه بهجةً وسنا

Its insides reveal what it contains

So the eye gains from it delight and radiance

لو حاكمته أواني ذا الأوان إلى

قاضٍ لقال أنا من خيرهن إنا

If the vessels of this time were to take it

To a judge, he would say “It is the best of them, verily”
