عاتبت من سد سمعي صوت فقحته

ولم أجد ملجأ لي من مطاردها

I reproached the one who blocked his ears from my intrusive voice

And found no refuge for me from its pursuit

فقال فوق ضراطي كلما سنحت

أنام ملء جفوني عن شواردها

So it said above my pillow whenever I had the chance

I sleep with my eyelids filled from its wanderings
