قد حارب الريح نيل مصرٍ

وعظ من غيظه الأصابع

The wind fought the Nile of Egypt

And preached from his anger the fingers

فجاءت الريح في انزعاج

كسر من موجه الأضالع

So the wind came in frustration

Broke from its wave the ribs
