يقول له المعشوق وهو يلوطه

لعلك تحتي بعد ذاك تنام

The beloved says to him as he makes love:

Perhaps after this you will fall asleep

فقال وهل في العيش للناس لذةٌ

إذا لم يكن فوق الكرام كرامُ

So he said: And is there any pleasure in life

If there is no honor above honor
