يا ساحباً ذيل الصبا في الهوى

أبليته في الغي وهو القشيب

O you who drags the tail of youth into passion

You have worn it out through heedlessness while still fresh

فاغسل بدمع العين ثوب التقى

ونقه من قبل عصر المشيب

So wash with tears the garment of devotion

And cleanse it before the pressing of old age
