ولقد ظفرت بليلةٍ كاساتها

يسعى بها الرشأ الغرير الأحور

I gained a night whose cups

The gracious, charming wine circulates

أنا لا أطيل الشرح في وصفي لها

هي مثل ما يصف اللسان وأكثر

I do not elaborate in describing it

It is as the tongue describes and more

لكن أقول طربت طبت ضممت قب

لت انتهيت إلى الذي لا يذكر

But I say, I rejoiced, delighted, embraced, kissed

I reached that which cannot be spoken of
