O fair one with a glance half granting, half denying,

Close-fisted is thy love, but open-handed thy greeting.

The magic she breathed from her eyes that enthralled me,

I charm away with exorcising lines if she frowns.

Her cheek outshines the full moon majestically beaming

O'er the delicate branch of the waving twig.

No critic can truly blame her beauty,

Naught but the fear of God could turn my rein from her.
