أضحى نسيم دمشق حياها الحيا
يمشي الهوينا في ظلال حماها
The breeze of Damascus has become its life,
Walking lightly in the shade of its protection.
وكأنه في مائها وهضابها
ما داس إلا أعينا وجباها
As if in its waters and plateaus,
It trod only our eyes and brows.
