ألا إن فن النظم يحتاج ربه

إلى لطف ذوق في مجال مجازه

Verily, the art of poetry needs its Lord

To have refined taste in the realm of metaphor

وكسب علو في علومٍ إذا أتى

إلى بابه ألقت حجاب حجازه

And to gain height in sciences, so when

It comes to its door, it casts off its veil
