O you who blame me for my passionate love,

You have wasted your time in vain.

Look at her beautiful face and say,

Glory to Him who filled you with such beauty!

Do not oppose her spear-like figure,

For you cannot stand before it without being pierced.

Turn away from her glances when she looks,

For the brightness of dawn shines from her teeth.

How strange that her gaze has conquered you

While you remain steadfast with no distraction.
