من تحلى بغير ما هو فيه

عابه في الأنام ما يدعيه

He who pretends to be other than he is

Is blamed by people for his pretense

وإذا حاول الدعاوي لما في

ه أضافوا إليه ما ليس فيه

And if he makes claims for what is not in him

They attribute to him what is not in him

وبحسب الذي أدعي ما أدعاه

أنه عالمٌ بما يفتريه

And it is enough for one who claims what he claims

That he is knowledgeable about what he fabricates

ومحل الفتى سيظهر في النا

س وإن كان دائباً يخفيه

And a young man's worth will show among people

Even if he constantly hides it
