I gave love to one who does not know,
So the judge did not do me justice in love.
And her charm increased when she turned away,
On her fingers brown of hue, bent.
Deaf though hearing, still though moving,
He reaches the heights, yet lame.
I am amazed—how can it be?—though Time itself is strange:
It rights the wrongs men do, itself perverse.
