تَهوى حَياتي وَأَهوى مَوتها شفقاً

وَالمَوتُ أَكرَم نَزّال عَلى الحُرُم

My life yearns and I yearn for its death in the evening glow

She desires my life, and I desire her death out of compassion,

And death is the most honorable guest of the sanctuaries

For death is the most honorable guest to alight upon the sacred women.
