If the light of my eye has indeed been extinguished,

For how often before has the light of an eye been extinguished.

Yet my heart has not gone blind; rather,

I perceive the light of my eye has traveled into it,

Kindling within it, to join its inner radiance,

A lamp of knowledge that cures all blindness.
