A successor has never ceased building upon a predecessor

among them, each latter giving expression to the first:

بَيتٌ يَجُرُّ على المَجَرَّةِ ذَيْلَه

بَيتٌ يَجُرُّ على المَجَرَّةِ ذَيْلَه

وندىً به عَزْلُ السِّماكِ الأعزلِ

وندىً به عَزْلُ السِّماكِ الأعزلِ

a house that trails its hem across the Milky Way,

and bounty by which the unarmed Simāk is unseated.
