I say, and perhaps my words may benefit you,
Suhayl, when the crescent moon rose,
You overwhelm me with meanings,
How can the crescent overwhelm the sea?
Do you hope to attain glory before me?
How can the star precede the crescent moon?
You smile when you see me, hypocritically,
While your inner self hides ill-will like a crescent,
You pretend softness while nursing evil,
As the crescent slides smoothly at touch,
You await my downfall, but it is you
Upon whom misfortune revolves like the crescent.
Their faces seem to dwell in humiliation,
And unyielding hardness, like the crescent.
Ignorance appended to vanities,
As the crescent appears on the foot.
Thick clouds are useless to mend cracks
That the crescent cannot fix.
I wonder how a book binds you,
When the crescent is wiser than you.
