The slave hopes for his freedom

    Loneliness turns into companionship

It takes him out of the night of worry

With a sunrise shining like the sun

So the loneliness of exile has stirred

    The nightingales and beauty

Do not let your devil destroy

    What faith has firmly built

Sign today to grant his request

Of what your ships seized yesterday

You are still the Giver of what it obtained

By your sword of maidens and booty

    And I hope after it

For the noble captives of Jerusalem
