صَبٌّ لتذكارِ أَهلِ الجزْعِ ذو جَزَعِ

أَطاعَهُ دمعهُ والصّبرُ لم يُطعِ

A youth to remind the stricken with grief, full of grief

His tears obeyed him while patience did not obey

وكانَ يطمعُ في طيفٍ يُلمُّ وقد

بانَ الرُّقادُ فما في الطّيفِ من طمعِ

He hoped for an apparition to gather him while

Sleep had appeared, so there was no hope in the apparition

يا لائماً يدَّعي نُحَ المحبِّ ولم

يتركْ له وجدهُ سمعاً ولم يدعِ

O you who blame and claim the lover's passion yet

Did not leave him his fervor, listening or calling

أَتعبتَ نفسَكَ تنهى غيرَ مُتّبعٍ

حكمَ الملامِ وتُلحي غيرَ مستمعِ

You tired yourself advising the unheeding

With blame’s judgment, insisting to the unlistening

إنْ يُجدِ لومي في الجودِ عاشقهُ

توران شاه كلانا غيرُ مُرتدعِ

If my generosity’s blame lives in its lover

Tawran Shah Kilana is undeterred

هو الجوادُ الذي عشقَ السّماحَ بهِ

أَفضى إلى أَمدٍ في الجودِ مخترعِ

He is the generous one who loved charity in him

Led to a life of generosity, an innovator

يا رائدَ الخصبِ إنْ تقصدْ ذُراهُ تجدْ

في ظلِّهِ خيرَ مُصطافٍ ومُرتبع

O guide to fertility, if you seek its meadows

In its shade is the best place to rest or settle
