أفدي الذي سادَ الحسانَ ملاحةً

حتى تواضعَ كلهم لسيادتهْ

I ransom the one who excelled in beauty and charm

Until all bowed to his supremacy

ضاجعتُه والوردُ تحتَ لحافهِ

ولثمتُه والبدرُ فوقَ وسادتهْ

I lay with him, roses beneath his sheets

I kissed him, the full moon above his pillow
