سِكْبَزُنا لا يزالُ مُفتْخِراُ

بأصلِهِ وهو ليسَ بالفاخِرْ

Our Sikbaz never ceases to boast

Of his lineage, though it is anything but noble.

مقلوبٌ نصفِ اسْمِهِ لزَوجتِهِ

يحبُّ مقلوبَ نصفِهِ الآخِرْ

Half his name, reversed, is his wife’s;

He loves the reverse of the other half.
