أنتَ الذي أَوْليتَني منناً

أنا كالحمامِ وهنَّ أطواقي

You are the one who bestowed blessings upon me

I am like a dove, and my wings are weak

وتمسّكتْ بعُرا نداكَ يدي

وتماسكتْ بعُلاكَ أرماقي

And my hands clung to the cord of your generosity

And my eyelids clung to your heights

وبِضاعتي نفقتْ لديكَ وكَمْ

كسدتْ لدى الجُهّالِ أَسواقي

And I spent my wares with you, and how much

My markets were stagnant with the ignorant

فنشرتُ مدحَكَ حسبَ مقدرتي

وعَلَكْتُ شُكركَ ملءَ أشْداقي

So I spread your praise according to my ability

And I filled my breaths to the brim with gratitude to you
