لا ترجُ خيراً شاملاً في البشرْ

فشرُّهُم أَشملُ إن يُعْتَبرْ

Do not hope for widespread good among people

For their evil is more widespread, if it is considered

ثلثاهمُم شَرٌّ ومصداقُ ما

حكيتُهُ حَصْرُ حروفِ البَشَرْ

Two thirds of them are evil, and the truth of what

I have told is contained in the letters of humankind
