My wealth, tell me why did you put forth a purchase

On which an ant made of pearls took the toil?

Did you not fear an army that rebels by itself

And takes it by force, coveting the adornment?

Be gentle with that afflicted one, and take for her

With your help, O supporter, all who are tested,

And do not think to send her away from you, for she

If sent away, will flee with a nearing slip.
