شِعرَي يَعلو الشِّعري برُتبتِهِ

ويسحبُ الذَّيلَ فوقَه قَدْري

My poetry ascends poetry to its rank

And drags my tail above my worth

في كلِّ بحرٍ عجائبٌ وأنا ال

بَحرُ ولكن عجائبي شِعري

In every sea are wonders, yet I am no sea

But my wonders are my poetry
