1. Whenever you meet the Bāhilī, you find him

    more miserly with his wretched provisions than a dog.

  2. By my life, the woman who nursed you, O son of Mujālid,

    and bore you after labor from a spacious womb,

  3. shall surely catch the flames of a war sweeping onward,

    far-reaching in its course, never turning back on its heels.
