نجحت بطولات كأن نجاءها

هوى القطا تعرو المناهل جونها

Her challenges succeeded as if her victory

Was the love of she-cats watering the meadows decorating them

طوين سقاء الخمس ثمت قلصت

لورد المياه واستنبت قرونها

I folded the water skin of the fifth then constricted

It to make the water gush and sprout its spouts

إذا ما وردن الماء في غلس الضحى

بللن أوادي لبس خزر يشينها

Whenever water flows in the calm of dawn

It wets valleys wearing green veils

جعلن حباب الماء حين حملنه

إلى غصص ثد ضاق عنها وتينها

It made water droplets when carrying them

To thickets of bent branches too narrow for it and its sheaths

إذا شئن أن يسمعن والليل واضع

هذا ليلة والريح تجري فنونها

If they want to be heard while the night is laying down

This is a night and the wind is blowing its melodies

تناوم سرب في أناصيصه السنا

بقايا أفاني لصيف حمراً بطونها

A flock is sleeping in the fox's burrows

Remnants of summers past, their bellies red

إذا ملأت منها قطاة سقاءها

فلا تعكم الأخرى ولا تستعينها

Whenever she-cats fill their water skins from it

No other is deprived, none else is its aide
